Local and Global MISSIONS

Missions Team to the Dominican Republic

Missions Team to the Dominican Republic

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Why do we talk about and support missions?

Because reaching those who have never heard of Christ’s love is God’s passion. God doesn’t desire for anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Because missions is God’s passion, it therefore must be our highest resolve to share the Gospel, the good news, to everyone who will listen (Matt 28:19-20). That’s missions.

Our Goal for 2023 is to invest in and partner, locally and globally, with missions endeavors including:

  • Total Missions Giving of $150,000+

·Invest over $50,000 in Compassion Projects, including One Day Feed the World through Convoy of Hope

·Invest over $20,000 in Local Ministries

·Invest over $80,000 in Global Ministries

In addition, we give Thanksgiving baskets through Olive Crest foster care, serve at Vision House and our local Ridgecrest Elementary, and provide weekend food packs to Food4Kids, and much more!

Thank you for your generosity!

How do we invest in missions?

There are at least three ways that we can all support missions:

Pray

Please pray for our 53 partners in sharing the Gospel. Paul wrote, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.  And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:2–6). That’s a good prayer for all our missions partners.

Give

Because of you faithfulness, we are supporting and sending the message of hope to our hurting world. Paul asked the question, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14–15) We have a team of missionaries who are Gospel centric, compelled by compassion, and stirred by the issues of injustice, both locally and globally. Our goal is to raise up an indigenous, sustaining church-based movement, equipping workers to build the kingdom.

Go

Jesus has called us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” We have opportunities to “go” with our community outreaches such as the Shoreline Arts Fest, Ridgecrest Serve Day, or Trunk or Treat. We have sent teams all around the globe, and we are preparing again to send teams to various locations. Stay tuned!  In addition to the global trips, we’ll provide opportunities of going on local trip as well, within Washington state or somewhere in the U.S.

Travel with us on a missions trip to see what God is doing! You will never be the same.

Tijuana, Armenia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Thailand are just a few examples of places SCC has gone to help others and share God’s love. If you would like to be a part of an upcoming missions trip, let us know!
