What we're About
Becoming and Making Disciples of Jesus
We're about becoming a family of love, acceptance, forgiveness, and belonging.
We call it “LAFB”.
It’s not a real word, but it’s the simple way to remember that we all need to give and receive LOVE, find ACCEPTANCE, receive FORGIVENESS, and experience a place to BELONG. We’re not perfect. But, together we are becoming a family where EVERYONE belongs.

We are a part of the Assemblies of God fellowship of churches.

The Great Commission
The Great Commandment

“…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Mark 12:30-31, Jesus said,
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." The second is this: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Our History
Shoreline Community Church starts all the way back in 1936 when our church founder, John Simpson, settled in 1936 in this area, then known as the North End Garden Tracts. This unimproved real estate venture was drawing many families and the Simpson's realized the opportunity and need for gospel outreach. They joined together in prayer with several other Christian families in the neighborhood. After three months, they purchased a building site on the corner of NE 185th and 2nd Ave NE for a total of $200! The original structure was built by John E. Johnson from Fremont Tabernacle along with the physical and financial assistance of friends from that church.
