WORSHIP ARTS
The worship team at SCC seeks to see a multi-generational expression of praise and surrender in our gatherings and events. Worship is an overflow from lives that are surrendered to Christ.
The Mission of the SCC Worship Ministry is to:
Create a space for our church to experience God, corporately and individually
Point our hearts and minds toward Jesus, as He draws us together
Send us out into the world with praise and worship of God
How Do We Do This?
Authentic Worship
Authentic worship recognizes the messiness of our own lives while reminding us the perfection of Christ, both in the truth of Scripture (theological truth) and in the experiences of a Christian life.
Proclaiming the Good News of Christ
Praise of Who God is
Thankfulness for His provision for us
Walking through sorrow/doubt with those who are struggling
Excellence
We strive to be excellent in our service. What does excellence mean for us? “Undistracting excellence” (John Piper). We strive to be effective and proficient in our craft, in order to communicate meaning and truth to the church.
Freedom
We have freedom in Christ from our sin, failures, and doubts – free to live!
We have the freedom to explore our rich heritage and culture as a church – our local church, current culture, and the Church through history.
We have the freedom to explore new and different ways of worshipping!
Current SCC Worship Ministry opportunities:
Sunday Morning Worship Team – singers, instrumentalists (guitars, keys, drums, wind instruments, string instruments…we love to explore interesting sounds as a band!)
Tech Team – Sound, Media, Lights teams
Online Gathering Team – Cameras, Recording Teams, Online Hosts

1 Chronicles 16:31-36
31 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
32 Let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33 Let the trees of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
35 Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
